The doctors at Fier Eye Care & Surgery Center well trained and have state-of-the-art equipment to identify these issues. Within the practice, Dr. Kevin Kelly, a fellowship-trained Retina Specialist, has the unique expertise to treat these disorders.
Light entering your eye is focused by the cornea and lens and travels through the vitreous gel onto the retina. At the center of the retina is the macula which has the highest light sensitivity and allows for your central, high-resolution vision.
This extremely sensitive part of the eye is vulnerable to disorders (especially with aging) such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, floaters, and uveitis. These disorders left untreated can cause significant vision loss and even blindness.
